You'll find landmarks worth purusing like Blackwell's Bookshop and the Covered Market, as well as all the 21st century conveniences and necessities at the Westgate Shopping Centre.

Covered Market
High Street, Oxford

Located along the High Street, the Covered Market swells with shops and stalls under a covered roof. Alongside butchers and greengrocers, you'll find sweetshops and bakeries. The Covered Market was built in the late 1700s as a way to rid Oxford's main streets of untidy stalls, but now provides a shopping experience that is unique, relaxed and unforgettable. The Covered Market is open most days of the year.

Blackwell's Bookshop

When does a bookstore become a tourist stop? When it's Blackwell's Bookshop in Oxford, a must-stop when you are travelling through the city and a fixture since Benjamin Blackwell opened it in 1879. Located on Broad Street, Blackwell's covers 10,000 square feet, much of it is below the neighbouring Trinity College. Blackwell's is open most days.

Templars Square

Templars Square is the largest shopping centre in Oxford, with more than 70 diverse shops and restaurants located along Broad Street. Shops include Bon Marche and Dorothy Perkins ladies fashions, Boots health and beauty store, F. Hinds jewellers, Greggs bakery, and WH Smith stationers. The stores are open every day of the week and parking is low-cost and abundant.

Westgate Shopping Centre

Located in the heart of Oxford on the west end of Queen Street and conveniently located to most Oxford hotels, Westgate Shopping Centre has more than 35 stores and cafes, though plans are underway to triple the size. Shops include Hawkins & Bazaar, Julian Graves, Holland & Barrett, Papeterie, Whittard's of Chelsea and Goldsmith's. Parking is more than ample. The Westgate Shopping Centre is open seven days a week.

Clarendon Centre

Also in the heart of Oxford, you'll find Clarendon Centre, a bit smaller than Westgate, with more than 25 stores, the largest of which are the Gap and Zara. Clarendon Centre is located at 52 Cornmarket Street and is open most days until 6.00 year round.

The University of Oxford Shop

Whether you're a student at Oxford or just a fan of academic merchandise, you'll enjoy a stop at the University of Oxford Shop, which is filled with all things Oxford, from mugs to polo shirts. Alice's Shop

The original Alice in Wonderland shop, where Alice herself purchased barley sugar sweets nearly 140 years ago, is now a shop for all things Alice, from Cheshire Cat limited edition prints to Tweedledee & Tweedledum salt and pepper shaker sets. Alice, the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's masterpiece was the real-life daughter of Christ Church Dean Henry George Lidell. Alice's Shop is located at 83 St. Adaltes, right across from the college.

Rowell of Oxford

Located in the historic city centre, Rowell of Oxford, established in 1797, is one of the city's most distinctive jewellers, specializing in gold, silver and pearls. Rowell also offers wedding jewellery, antique jewellery and jewellery repair services. You'll find Rowell conveniently located on Turl Street.
